New flat roof

June 2025 · TN26

I had a flat roof replaced on my garage and extension. From the initial quote to the completion of the work, everything was handled professionally. The old roof was stripped back, new timber where needed, and a high-performance membrane fitted. It was all done in two days, site left spotless. Really pleased with the result — no more leaks and it looks great.

Roofing work

February 2025 · TN23

Had a leak coming through the bedroom ceiling after the storms. Called Weather Wizard and he was round within a couple of days. Found the problem quickly — a few slipped tiles and damaged flashing — and had it sorted the same afternoon. Fair price, no fuss. Would definitely call again.

Installation

February 2025 · TN23

Complete re-roof on a 1930s semi. The whole job was done in under a week — old tiles stripped, felt and battens replaced, new tiles fitted. They even sorted a couple of timber repairs I didn't know were needed. Very tidy workers, kept me informed throughout. The roof looks fantastic.

Guttering Repairs

March 2025 · DA1

Gutters were overflowing at the back of the house and I'd been putting it off for months. Weather Wizard came out, cleared everything, replaced a cracked section and realigned the whole run. Job done in a morning. Wish I'd called sooner.

Chimney repointing

January 2025 · ME15

The mortar on our chimney stack had been crumbling for a while and we kept putting it off. Weather Wizard came out, had a proper look, and got it all repointed within the day. Scaffolding went up and came down with no fuss. The stack looks solid again and he even pointed out a loose flashing that could have caused problems later. Honest and thorough — exactly what you want from a tradesman.

New fascias and soffits

April 2025 · TN24

We'd been meaning to replace the old wooden fascias for years — they were peeling and starting to go soft in places. Weather Wizard stripped the lot off and fitted new white uPVC fascias and soffits right round the house. Neat job, everything lines up properly, and the guttering was rehung and checked while he was at it. House looks so much smarter now. Good bloke, got on with it, no messing about.

What I Can Help With

Roof Repairs

I'll track down the source, fix it properly, and tell you honestly if anything else needs attention.

Guttering

Blocked or broken gutters push water into your walls and fascias. I'll clear, realign, or replace them.

Chimney Work

Mortar breaks down, lead flashing lifts, and water finds its way in. I repoint, rebuild, and re-flash.

Flat Roofing

I use modern high-performance systems designed to last, not just look tidy on the day.

Fascias & Soffits

Once timber starts to rot behind your gutters, it doesn't stop. uPVC puts an end to it permanently.

Full Re-roofs

I'll strip it back, check the timbers underneath, and re-roof it properly — built to outlast the guarantee.

Experienced roofer working on a traditional tile roof in Kent

Who's Behind Weather Wizard?

I've been working on roofs across Kent for 25 years. No franchise, no sales team — just me, a van, and a reputation built job by job. When I come to quote your work, I'm the one on the ladder. And in most cases, I'm the one doing the repair too.

For bigger jobs, I bring in trusted tradespeople I've worked alongside for years. But I'm always on site, always overseeing the work, and always the one you call if anything isn't right. You won't be passed around. You'll always get me.

I treat every roof like it's my own house. That might sound like something people say — but when you've been at this as long as I have, you know the difference between a job done right and a job done quick. I'd rather take an extra hour and know it'll hold.

Why Small Roof Problems Become Expensive Ones

I see this every week. A homeowner calls about a damp patch on their ceiling — and by the time I get up there, a £200 repair has become a £2,000 job. Roofs hide their problems until they can't anymore.

Week 1

A Small Repair

A cracked tile, a slipped slate, a gap where the flashing has lifted. At this stage the fix is simple, quick, and cheap. You might not even notice it yet — but a roofer would spot it in two minutes on a ladder.

Typical repair cost: £150–£300
Month 1

Moisture Gets In

Water has found its way past the first line of defence. It's working into the felt, the battens, and the timbers beneath your tiles. Ceilings start to stain. Mould begins to grow. The repair is still manageable — but the clock is ticking.

Typical repair cost: £500–£1,500
Month 6

A Major Job

The timbers are compromised. Ceilings are bulging. What started as a single afternoon's work has become a scaffolding job. This is the outcome I'm trying to help you avoid — not frighten you with.

Typical repair cost: £3,000–£5,000

Common Questions

How much does a roof repair cost?

Honestly, it depends on what's up there — a slipped tile is a very different job to a failing ridge or a leaking flat roof. Most small repairs come in between £150 and £400, and I'll always give you a fixed price before I start, so there are no surprises. The best thing to do is get me out for a look; the quote is free and it costs you nothing to know where you stand.

Do you offer free quotes?

Yes, always. I'll come out, get up on the roof if needed, and give you a straight assessment of what's going on and what it'll cost to fix. There's no call-out charge and no obligation. You'll get a clear, fixed price in writing before any work starts.

What areas do you cover?

I'm based in Kent and cover the surrounding area — Maidstone, Ashford, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Sittingbourne, Faversham, and most of the villages and towns in between. If you're not sure whether I cover your area, just give me a call and I'll tell you straight away.

How quickly can you come out?

For most jobs I can get out within a day or two, and if it's an emergency — a storm has taken tiles off, water is coming in — I'll do my best to get to you the same day. I know a leaking roof can't wait, so I keep space in the diary for urgent callouts where I can.

Are you insured?

Yes. I carry full public liability insurance, so you're protected if anything goes wrong on site. It's one of those things you hope you never need, but you should always check before letting anyone onto your roof. I'm happy to show you my documents before we start.

What if it rains during the work?

Good question, and it comes up more often than you'd think in Kent. I'll always check the forecast before committing to a start date, and where possible I'll time the work around dry spells. If rain does arrive mid-job, I'll make sure everything is properly covered and weatherproof before I leave the site — I won't leave you exposed.

No Obligation. No Call-Out Fee. No Surprises.

Tell me what's worrying you and I'll give you a straight answer — what needs doing, roughly what it'll cost, and how soon it needs attention. If it can wait, I'll say so.
